Mathletics Hall of Fame-they keep on coming

All of a sudden today we had an explosion of students who got on to the Mathletics Hall of Fame.

We had:
Seren-94th student in New Zealand

Kareena-74th student in New Zealand

Hayley-40th student in New Zealand



Ashton-17th student in the world and 4th student in New Zealand

Mathletics-3 in a row

Wow, students are getting higher and higher on the Mathletics Hall of Fame. Great to see them challenging themselves.

Today at the end of his maths session on the computer Ashton was 49th in New Zealand and 92nd  in the world. We are very proud of his achievement.

Morning question-weekend sport

Every morning before school students answer a morning question. Sometimes the teacher writes it, but usually one of the students write it. This was this mornings question.

It's great to see so many students involved in weekend sports.

Digital citizenship-Pause and Think Online video

We are starting to learn about digital citizenship, what it means and how we can be good digital citizens.

First we brainstormed what we thought it meant. These are some of our ideas:
-Digital-devices like laptops,ipads and computers.

-Treating things like phones with respect.

·    -Being responsible online.

·    -Not searching up bad things or inappropriate things.

·    -Treating things the way we want to be treated.

·    -Going on the websites you have been told to.
-Being a citizen (like a citizen of New Zealand) of digital things.

Then we watched this catchy video about digital citizenship. It was made by Common Sense Media. Their website is www.commonsensemedia.org.

Finally it's happened. Someone in our class has earned enough points on Mathletics to get on the Hall of Fame.
