imovie trailers
Students had great fun one afternoon when they had made imovie trailers. They had to choose a theme, then work together to take videos or photos to put into imovie. Students had to make sure that they listened to ideas, shared the tasks and included others. We think they look fantastic.

Snapshot of challenges
Here is a bit of a snapshot of some of the challenges we've done over the last term and a half. Some were easier than others. Lots were fun. Students had to communicate their ideas with others, have an idea and give it a go, trial what they had made, and make modification. Sometimes all groups succeed, other times only some of the groups succeed. But students learnt plenty even when theirs didn't work.
Build a raft out of straws and string to float 'people' for 20 seconds.
Create a free standing marble run that makes the marble go at least 3 meters from start to finish and hits the bottle.
Create a stretcher out of newspaper, string and 10 meters of tape. Carry a 'patient' through a obstacle course with one person blindfolded.

Follow the directions on this blog https://www.teachstarter.com/easy-fun-origami-box-kids/ to create a colourful origami box.

Year 5's seed challenge
When the Year 6s went to Tawa Intermediate for a visit the Year 5s all got together in the hall.
They had to work in groups with one person from each class. Their challenge was to use only limited resources and create the slowest way to get a seed to the ground.
Thanks Mrs Gordon for videoing them and thanks Jack and Sean for putting it all together.

Last badminton session - videos
For our last badminton session we were allowed to play. Some groups played king of the square, some played real badminton and others enjoying rallying the shuttle.
These videos show how our skills have improved.

Drawings of pirates
In the last week of Term 3 the school had some fun for 'Talk Like A Pirate Day'.
Some students dressed up, the whole school did pirate activities in their house group for an hour and a half and many people enjoyed sausages and loot bags at lunch time.
We used inspiration of others drawings to create our own pirates. They look fantastic. All different and unique.
